Here we go. An infinity scarf. You've heard of them, right? This is mine:

On my last trip to the fabric store, I found a clearance bolt of this. It's a spandex/knit fabric. I'm not an expert on fabric, but it's stretchy and soft and non-fraying. Two dollars a metre (for those who aren't familiar with 'metre's', 1 metre equals about 1.09 yards, it's a Canadian term). I loved the gray, so I immediately snatched it up.
Here's why it was on clearance. Two small snag/hole areas along the fabric. This wasn't a big deal since I wasn't planning on making a maxi skirt out of or anything. It was the perfect fabric for those infinity scarves I've been meaning to attempt.
So, first of all, you'll need to fold your fabric in half width wise.

This should measure 45" long.
And 11.5 to 12 inches wide.
Make your cut along the fold. The great thing about this project, you don't have to make it too perfect. Which is good because I'm horrible at cutting straight, even with a ruler.
Pin the raw edges together, right sides in (both sides of my fabric were the same which made it SUPER easy), leaving the ends open.
Place your tube of fabric right side out.
Meet up your two ends like this.
Fold the edge of one end under and pin.
Stick the ends together, placing one end into the pinned end. Match up the seams and pin all layers together making sure the top fabric is folded under all the way around.
So it should look like this in the back.
Sew the pieces together carefully to be sure you're going through ALL the layers since the back will sometimes like to slip out of the sewing line.
And.. you're done. Nice. Put it on and you've just completed your outfit!

I really am loving gray for fall. But have fun with your color/fabric. And make lots... I'm sure I will!
Have fun! See you tomorrow!

I love your scarf! This will be the perfect weight for our mild winters in Texas. I can't cut a straight line for the life of me, but I don't let it stop me from sewing. Found your project at The Shabby Creek Cottage.

Thanks for sharing, I will definitely be making one (or 5). Looks pretty easy, too. These would make great Christmas gifts, I think.

@Liz @ thequickjourney.blogspot.com Glad you liked it, Liz! Thanks!!
I would love to make one of these, but I have a question about the fabric. How do you keep it from stretching out of shape when you sew it? I haven't sewn on spandex knits before.
