This tutorial is for my daughter's Christmas Tree shirt.
You'll need: one shirt (I always get simple tees from Wal-Mart or Old Navy.. always have the best deals and the shirts are pretty good quality. Wal-Mart regular priced stuff is usually 5 bucks or less and Old Navy clearance you can sometimes get a shirt as low as 1.50! LOVE their sales!)
Green lace. I had a TON of it from my Halloween party, but really you only need scraps.
Sequins. These were given to me (with TONS more sequins) from my hubby's grandmother. Gotta love FREE stuff!!
First off you need to create a tree/triangle shape. I used two rulers and my rotary cutter to cut it. The bottom of the fabric had a lovely detail, so I used it for the bottom of the tree.
Now trace your shape onto some thermo web (heat n bond) and apply as directed.
Because the lace is thin and transparent in some areas, I used a scrap piece of fabric to press it together.
Peel away the paper, the back should look like this.
Iron it onto your shirt.
Now arrange your sequins over your tree. I used a temporary adhesive to stick them on (you could use plain old white glue).
Then using a coordinating thread, I sewed around the perimeter of the tree and went back and forth over the sequins. You could also hand sew them on, but I'm lazy.
