Christmas Shirts for the Kids: Part 2

Let us continue on with the Christmas shirts shall we?  I wanted to show you the boys shirts this time.  Trying to get them included in the mini photo shoot was a job in itself.  I got some shots, but they don't sit still (like any other 2 year old) so a lot of the shots were blurry.  Ah well.

One snowman shirt.

One truck with a gift shirt.

I have one last tutorial for you.  I only did a tutorial for the snowman shirt, mostly because the other one was pretty simple.  Find an image, cut out the pieces, iron them on, sew around the pieces, done.  You could figure it out for yourself.
Now that I think of it, you could figure out the snowman shirt yourself too..  But you're gettin a tutorial for it anyway!  Ha!

Okay, start off with a simple tee like this.

Now cut out 3 different sized circle shapes of white fabric (I used fleece scraps).  To make it easy, I used 3 different jar lids to get the sizes.

Then cut out some other pieces such as the hat and the nose.  Again, I used fleece scraps.  I wanted it to have a wintry feel to it, so the fleece won.  Then find a few black buttons.  Mine are all different.

Arrange the pieces the way you want them to look before you begin.  Make sure it'll fit on the shirt and so on.  I didn't add eyes or a mouth because I like the way it looked without.

Trace out your pieces on some Thermo Web and apply to your pieces as directed.

Put the pieces in place and iron away.

I added stitching around the outline of the snowman with my machine, just to be sure it would stay put.

Next, you can stitch on the buttons.  I used embroidery thread, but regular thread would work too.

Then, I created the stick arms out embroidery thread as well, using a split stitch.

That's all there was to it!

And a few more shots of the truck shirt.

Enjoy!!  Hope you're inspired to create your own Christmas shirts.  Have fun!
