Guest Post: Lindsay from Southern Lovely

Today, we have something special.  It's a guest post!!  The very FIRST guest on vixenMade!

Thanks so much, Lindsay, for sharing your lovely talent with us today!

Well hello there! I'm Lindsay, and I blog over at Southern Lovely. Being a busy mom of three, crafting is sometimes hard to come by. I love a good DIY, painting or sewing project. I usually do my best work after the kids have gone to bed. :)

I'm really excited to be here today, on Victoria's wonderful blog!
Today I am going to share a fun tutorial for dressing up old ornaments.

Let's get started..

Supplies needed:
Ornaments--old or new, I picked these up at Target's dollar section
Yarn
Hot glue

To begin, put a little hot glue at the top of your ornament to secure your yarn, then start wrapping. You will want to add hot glue every so often, it will help so the yarn stays in place. I noticed that the glittery ornaments wrapped so much easier then the plain ones. I also noticed that once you are 3/4 of the way through, it get's kind of hard & takes a little patience. So stick with it, and you will have adorable little ornaments before you know it. :)

I really love how they turned out. I actually like seeing the hint of color beneath the yarn. Gives it a little something extra.

I decided to display them in the new cloche that I picked up at a thrift store.
You could also stack them in a glass jar.
So many possibilities!

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for having me here today!

Happy Holidays!
