In January, my boy’s turned 6.
It’s bittersweet, y’know?
I love seeing my children grow, learning new things and getting bigger. But yet it tugs at your heartstrings. I don’t have any more babies. I miss my babies. Don’t we all?
Well, I’ll enjoy this stage. Even though these boys are little crazies that feed off each other. Thank goodness they’re in school.
I digress. I love these boys. They are my world. Let’s revisit their 6th birthday, shall we?
Invitations were designed by me. For custom printables, visit my etsy shop.
My boys have really gotten into hockey this winter. Like most boys who live in Canada. What else do we do in the winter?
It’s great though. Keeps them active and it’s something they can enjoy with their friends.
I decided to do a mock-scoreboard as a backdrop. The boys loved it!
And how about the cupcake stand? Look familiar? Ahem. Stanley cup, maybe? I created this by using my existing cupcake stand, silver spray paint and a bowl.
I picked up a hockey stick mold for the party and it was the perfect fit for my pretzels.
And sugar cookies. Of course.
Since there’s two of them and they’re complete opposites. We had to have two different flavoured cupcakes. Chocolate with vanilla buttercream and blueberry cupcakes with lemon buttercream.
Wagon wheels are the perfect match to hockey pucks.
I hung the birthday bunting with hockey laces. Because how fun is that?
We adorned our ceiling above the table with hockey cards that my boys like to collect.
Colored electrical tape made for a hockey rink table.
Here they are! My birthday boys!
As for the treat bags, I made each child their VIP pass on a lanyard.
Inside their bags they each received a whistle, a hockey stick pencil, airheads candy and a hockey lace bracelet that I made.
