We love Dr. Seuss books in this house.
The rhymes, the folly, the fun of the stories are always a good thing to connect with. Plus, we love to read and we love books. So, of course, I’m a fan.
Anyways, back in March.
March 2nd, to be exact. Ahem. That would be Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
That day I decided to throw my kids a surprise party to celebrate it. I quickly planned my treats (whatever I had on hand, really) and got together our Dr. Seuss books and went to town.
So while they were at school, I whipped up this.
I found some fun cup wrapper printables from here.
I had leftover cotton candy from a recent party. I used my tall shot glasses for those. I just love the way they look!
I also had found some printable quotes from various places that I used to decorate.
Jello in these polkadot cups. Because my kids are in love with jello.
And I created these Cat in the Hat marshmallow pops with red candy melts.
Conveniently, I had a few garlands in my stash with red and blue. So perfect!
And these berry baskets I had leftover from Christmas were perfect! Yum! Popcorn. With, y’know, the ‘Hop on Pop’ book right alongside.
Mini chocolate cupcakes and chocolate drizzled pretzels were also a great treat.
Needless to say, the kids were pretty surprised.
The best part was them coming in the door telling me all about Dr. Seuss’ birthday and the fun things they did in school.
Only to have more even fun at home!
